Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to further strengthening Pak-China cooperation in agriculture, science, innovation, and rural transformation. He was addressing a workshop on Pak-China agricultural cooperation in Beijing.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of building enduring institutional linkages among universities, scientists, researchers, and talented young minds from both countries. This, he noted, would sow the seeds of friendship that could yield prosperity, progress, and shared development for future generations.
The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan's desire for enhanced Chinese cooperation, particularly in agriculture. He stressed the need to revitalize Pakistan's agricultural research centers, noting the importance of transformation in agriculture for a better future and youth empowerment.
Shehbaz Sharif proposed the idea of sending one thousand fresh agriculture graduates from all provinces of Pakistan to Chinese universities for refresher courses and modern training in advanced areas of agriculture. He assured that the selection process would be purely merit-based.
The Prime Minister described his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang as highly productive, useful, cordial, and friendly. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating CPEC 2.0, with the agriculture sector remaining a top priority.
