Rawalpindi: Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, engaged in a series of high-profile meetings with Pakistan's top military leadership at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi today. He met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, to discuss mutual professional interests, regional security dynamics, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defense cooperation.
According to Radio Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and strategic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. He appreciated the strong defense partnership that exists between the armed forces of the two nations. The discussions underscored the commitment to further strengthen military collaboration and address regional security challenges together.
General Metin Tokel's visit also included meetings with other key figures in Pakistan's defense establishment. He visited Naval Headquarters (NHQ) in Islamabad, where he met with Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf. The discussions at NHQ revolved around matters of professional interest and the regional maritime security environment, highlighting the importance of naval cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, the Turkish Commander called on Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.
