Spillways of Rawal Dam to Be Reopened on Monday

Rawalpindi: Spillways of the Rawal Dam will be reopened tomorrow at six in the morning. The spillways are scheduled to remain open for around five hours as a precautionary measure to enhance the dam’s water storage capacity in anticipation of potential rains in the upper parts of the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority has issued an advisory for residents in the surrounding areas of the dam, urging them to stay away from the waterfront. The advisory also extends to the general public, advising against unnecessary movement near the dam. Additionally, fishermen and boaters are specifically cautioned to avoid the water during this period.
