An agreement has been reached between Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Opposition Leader, Raja Riaz, to appoint Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar as the caretaker PM of the interim setup.
According to the details, both the PM and Opposition Leader held a final meeting at the PM House to discuss and finalize Kakar’s name for this key role.
Following their meeting, the two leaders signed a document, recommending Kakar for the position. After which, it was forwarded to the President for final approval.
For those unfamiliar, Anwar ul Haq Kakar has been serving as Senator since March 2018.
He won his seat representing Balochistan as an independent candidate. His formal induction into the Senate took place on 12 March 2018.
Senator Kakar also made headlines by co-founding the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
