Second phase of Sindh local body’s polls to be held on 28th August

A special meeting was held at the Election Commission Secretariat regarding the peaceful conduct of the by-elections of NA-245 in Karachi and the second phase of local body’s elections in Sindh.

According to Election of Commission of Pakistan, by-elections are scheduled to be held on 21st of this month whereas second phase of local body’s elections in Sindh will be held on 28th of this month.

The meeting was presided over by Secretary Election Commission and Chief Secretary Sindh via video link.

On the occasion, the Secretary Election Commission conveyed the message of the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja that during the polling, any kind of unrest and interference in the polling will not be tolerated under any circumstances and action will be taken against the violators.

It is pertinent to mention that 263 polling stations have been established in NA 245 Karachi, while 9046 polling stations have been established in the second phase of local body’s elections in Sindh, which will be held in Karachi and Hyderabad.
