Religions Followers Equal Citizens, Enjoy Constitutional Rights: DG ISPR

Karachi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that followers of all religions in Pakistan are equal citizens and enjoy all constitutional rights. Interacting with representatives of different religions and social classes in Karachi, he emphasized that national unity is sustained through equality and harmony.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Director General ISPR highlighted that all Pakistanis are equal, and any form of racial or linguistic hatred is considered ignorance. He asserted that no power can defeat the nation if it remains united. Lieutenant General Chaudhry also clarified that only the state has the authority to declare Jihad, not any individual or group.

Addressing issues with India, the DG ISPR accused India of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan and noted that the Pakistan Army is countering this with a modern war strategy. On this occasion, representatives from various religions and social classes described their meeting with the DG ISPR as significant and expressed their gratitude towards him.

They conveyed their hope that such meetings will continue in the future to foster ongoing dialogue and understanding.
