Pakistan Railways: Pakistan Railways has registered a record revenue of 83 billion rupees during the 11 months of the current fiscal year as against 77 billion rupees during the same period last year.
According to Radio Pakistan, a press release issued by the Railways Headquarters detailed that revenue worth 42 billion rupees was received from passenger trains, 29 billion rupees from freight trains, and 12 billion rupees from other sources. This significant revenue increase suggests that Pakistan Railways has strong prospects of surpassing last year’s record of 88 billion rupees.
In terms of divisional contributions, the Karachi division led with 38 billion rupees in revenue. Meanwhile, the Lahore division earned 10.75 billion rupees, and the Rawalpindi and Multan divisions collectively recorded a revenue of 8 billion rupees.
