Islamabad: Radio Pakistan and the National Highways and Motorway Police have agreed in principle to a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding focused on enhancing traffic awareness and public education on road safety.
According to Radio Pakistan, the agreement was reached during a meeting held in Islamabad, attended by Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh and Assistant to the IG National Highways and Motorway Police Syed Ali Asif, along with their respective teams. This initiative is aligned with the directives of Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, aiming to promote safe travel on national highways and motorways while increasing public awareness of traffic rules.
The collaboration involves broadcasting safety and awareness content for drivers and travelers on national highways and motorways through Radio Pakistan and the National Highways and Motorway Police platforms. The content will be available in Urdu and various regional languages, with the goal of promoting adherence to traffic regulations and reducing road accidents.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on different aspects of the cooperation. It was agreed that, following the completion of initial formalities, a formal and comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding will be signed. Both institutions consider this collaboration an important step towards promoting road safety at the national level, encouraging responsible driving behavior, and enhancing public awareness.
