Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed deputy commissioners and district police officers to ensure strict checking of buses and bus terminals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha across the province.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for rigorous inspections to maintain order and safety during the festive period. She instructed that route permits of buses found guilty of overcharging should be cancelled, and licenses of bus terminals violating regulations should be revoked.
The Punjab Transport Department has also established helpline 1071 to address passengers' complaints, providing a channel for public grievances regarding bus services during this busy period.
