Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Highlights Investment Opportunities in Key Sectors

New York:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pointed out significant investment opportunities in Pakistan across various sectors, including agriculture, mines and minerals, IT and AI, and ports and shipping.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister shared these insights during discussions with delegations from the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) and the US-Pakistan Business Council (USPBC) in New York.

He emphasized the stability and growth trajectory of Pakistan's economy, attributing this progress to substantial structural reforms and efforts to digitize the economy. In agriculture, he noted the potential for enhanced production through modern technology and machinery, highlighting Pakistan's abundant natural resources.

Shehbaz Sharif also spoke about the youthful demographic of Pakistan and the government's initiatives to empower them through IT and AI-driven programs, along with vocational and skills training.

The Prime Minister mentioned the notable improvement in Pakistan-US relations in recent years. Discussing regional issues, he reiterated Pakistan's commitment to facilitating peace efforts in the Gulf region and expressed hope for achieving long-term peace with the support of friendly nations, which he believes is crucial for boosting business and investment.

The USPBC and BCIU assured Prime Minister Sharif of their continued engagement with the Pakistani government and private sector to strengthen cooperation. They acknowledged Pakistan as a valuable destination for US businesses, citing its market size and young workforce.

Members of the USPBC and BCIU also briefed the Prime Minister on their business interests in Pakistan and plans to expand their presence in the country.
