Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has officially appointed Supreme Court Judge Justice Yahya Afridi as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, with his term set to begin on October 26 for a duration of three years. The appointment, carried out under Articles 175A (3), 177, and 179 of the Constitution, was confirmed through a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement marks a significant appointment within Pakistan’s judiciary.
