President Lauds Armed Forces for Response to India

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed his faith in Pakistan’s armed forces, lauding their response to Indian aggression and defending the nation’s sovereignty. In a statement on the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, he stated that the response to India has been effective, significantly impacting their military capabilities.

According to Radio Pakistan, the President highlighted the bravery and resolve demonstrated by Pakistan’s armed forces, attributing it to the strength derived from the Two-Nation Theory and the country’s faith. He extended congratulations to the Chief of the Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and all military branches for their efforts and bravery.

The President urged the nation to celebrate and pray for those who embraced Shahadat. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance that enduring peace in South Asia requires resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions and addressing issues with India, including the Indus Waters Treaty.

Asif Ali Zardari expressed gratitude to friendly countries, including the United States, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and especially China, for their support. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the President stated that Pakistan seeks peace, not provocation, but will not compromise on its sovereignty.
