Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will not compromise on protection of freedom of expression.
She was talking to representatives of Media Joint Action Committee in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Information Minister said the Prime Minister wants promotion of the constitutional and civilized right to freedom of expression.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Government is well aware of the issues of the Journalists community and steps are being taken in this regard.
She said role of media is imperative for country’s progress so it should play its role in curbing the riotous rhetoric based on lies.
