Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on the telephone today to exchange greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the President and the brotherly people of Uzbekistan, which the Uzbek leader warmly reciprocated.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders exchanged views on the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region. They stressed the need for an immediate de-escalation and emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all disputes.
Additionally, the leaders expressed satisfaction with the highly successful outcomes of the Uzbek President's visit to Pakistan last month. The Prime Minister highlighted that regular follow-up on the key decisions taken by both leaders would ensure the further strengthening of bilateral ties.
