Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to rid the country of debilitating polio virus.
The resolve was expressed during a telephone conversation with Co-chair of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’ Bill Gates at United Arab Emirates today.
He appreciated the support of the Gates Foundation to Pakistan in securing a polio-free country.
On this occasion, they followed up on their discussion held in September on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.
The Prime Minister also briefed him regarding the ongoing polio vaccination drive in the country.
Expressing satisfaction over the excellent cooperation between the Pakistani Government and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed commitment to deliver on the promise of a healthier, safer and financially inclusive Pakistan.
The issues of malnutrition and maternal health were also discussed in a conversation.
