Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps for making the shut-down power plants functional.
He issued the direction while chairing an important meeting in Lahore on Sunday, to discuss steps to resolve the ongoing energy crises and load-shedding in the country.
The Prime Minister sought a report entailing clear reasons of the load-shedding in the country.
He also directed for resolution of the issues of provinces regarding provision of drinking water and agriculture facilities on priority basis.
The Indus River System Authority was asked to take an independent decision in this regard after mutual consultation of the provinces.
