PM, Jordanian King Call for Peace in Ranks of Ummah

Amman: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with King Abdullah-II of Jordan to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. During the discussion, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt Eid greetings to the Royal Family and the people of Jordan. King Abdullah-II warmly reciprocated these sentiments, and both leaders called for peace and harmony within the ranks of the Ummah.

According to Radio Pakistan, the conversation also touched upon the evolving situation in the Middle East. The Prime Minister expressed his deep concern over the ongoing hostilities in the region and strongly condemned the attacks on Jordan amidst the regional escalation. He expressed his solidarity with the Jordanian people during these challenging times and emphasized the importance of restraint, de-escalation, and diplomatic solutions to the tensions.

Prime Minister Sharif fondly recalled King Abdullah's visit to Pakistan last November and reaffirmed Pakistan's strong commitment to strengthening its close and brotherly relations with Jordan. The discussion highlighted shared interests, particularly in trade, investment, and defense. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact on bilateral and regional matters to further their mutual interests.
