Islamabad: Pakistan has won the World Masters and Under-17 IBSF World Snooker Championships 2025 held in Bahrain. The victories mark significant achievements for the nation in the global snooker arena.
According to Radio Pakistan, in the World Masters final, Pakistan’s snooker player, Mohammad Asif, secured a win against India’s Brijesh Damani with a score of 4-3. Meanwhile, in the U-17 World Snooker Championship final, Muhammad Hasnain defeated Riley Powell of Wales with a commanding 4-0 victory.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his congratulations to Muhammad Asif for his remarkable achievement in the World Snooker Championship. In a statement, the President highlighted that Asif’s triumph over Brijesh Damani brought pride to the nation. He emphasized that the success in the world competition reflects the skill, determination, and hard work of Pakistani players. Furthermore, President Zardari praised Asif’s dedication, courage, and professionalism, asserting that Pakistani players have proven their capabilities on the global stage.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his congratulations to both Muhammad Asif and Hasnain Akhtar for their victories. In his statement, he acknowledged the ongoing success of Pakistani snooker players worldwide.
