Pakistan Triumphs at Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship

Islamabad: Pakistan has won the 2nd Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship, defeating the defending champions Iran with a score of 3-1 in Thailand on Saturday. The victory marks a significant achievement as Pakistan remained undefeated throughout the championship.

According to Radio Pakistan, the team’s journey to the gold medal was marked by dominant victories over teams like South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei. A particularly commanding 3-0 win against India in the semi-finals set the stage for the final against Iran. The triumph has been widely celebrated across the nation.

President Asif Ali Zardari extended his congratulations to the team, highlighting their skills and passion. He noted that the victory is a testament to teamwork, discipline, and the efforts of the coaches. The President expressed confidence that the team will maintain their winning streak and continue to bring glory to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also felicitated the team, expressing happiness over their undefeated performance in the tournament. He shared that the entire nation is proud of its youth and prayed for continued success for the Pakistani team in future competitions.
