Pakistan Reiterates Support for Palestinian Statehood Based on Pre-1967 Borders

New york: Pakistan has reaffirmed its support for a sovereign, independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with UN resolutions and international law. This was stated by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad while addressing the Security Council on the ongoing situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar expressed concerns over the fragile situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. He noted that two years of devastating conflict have exacted an unbearable toll, and the fragile gains since the October 2025 ceasefire now hang in balance. He emphasized that while a delicate regional situation consumes global focus, the West Bank and Gaza must remain a priority on the international agenda.
