Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmiri People’s Right to Self-Determination

Islamabad: Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for Kashmiri people's inalienable right to self-determination. He made these remarks during an event jointly organized by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations and Pakistan's Consulate General in New York.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad emphasized that Pakistan has consistently championed the Kashmir cause at every international forum. He reiterated the country's commitment to continue exposing India's human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Ambassador Ahmad described the illegal and unilateral measures of 5 August 2019 as a watershed moment that intensified decades of occupation and repression. He further highlighted that the legal foundation of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains intact under the UN Charter and the relevant Security Council resolutions.
