Geneva: Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the World Health Organization’s agenda. He was addressing the seventy-eighth session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister paid tribute to the WHO for its pivotal role in promoting global health. He highlighted Pakistan’s strong and effective actions against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, malaria, dengue, and hepatitis.
Meanwhile, the Member States of the World Health Organization have unanimously adopted the first-ever pandemic agreement to enhance global safety. The agreement was formally adopted by consensus during the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva today. WHO Director-General Dr. Teodoro Herbosa told reporters that the agreement is a victory for public health, science, and multilateral action.
