Pakistan Frontline State in Global Combat Against Terrorism: Rizwan

Washington DC: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has stated that Pakistan continues to serve as the frontline state in the global fight against terrorism, particularly those threats emanating from Afghanistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Sheikh made these remarks while addressing a dialogue titled “Regional Dynamics Covering Afghanistan,” organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC. He emphasized the importance of consistent attention to South Asian security, rather than episodic engagements, to effectively manage the regional challenges.

The Ambassador highlighted Pakistan’s strategic geographic connectivity to Central Asia and Europe. He pointed out that without peace and stability, Pakistan’s economic potential remains unfulfilled. He also noted a deliberate shift in Pakistan’s foreign policy from geopolitics to geo-economics, underscoring the country’s focus on economic development as a cornerstone of its international relations strategy.
