New york: At the United Nations, Pakistan has expressed readiness to collaborate with all members of the Security Council and beyond to ensure that critical minerals serve as catalysts for sustainable development, progress, and stability. This commitment was articulated by Permanent Representative of Pakistan at the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, during a UN Security Council briefing on "Energy, Critical Minerals, and Security."
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar emphasized Pakistan's dedication to the responsible development of its energy and mineral resources. He highlighted that the Government of Pakistan has initiated targeted efforts to accelerate the exploration and development of critical minerals.
He also mentioned that Pakistan is enhancing its regulatory frameworks, modernizing geological mapping, improving licensing transparency, and promoting environmentally responsible mining practices. The Permanent Representative underscored that the ultimate goal is to ensure that Pakistan's resource potential translates into industrial growth and social development.
