Pakistan, Bangladesh agree to expand bilateral ties

New York: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Pakistan and Bangladesh have decided to enhance their cooperation across multiple sectors. This agreement was reached during a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s membership in the United Nations, which was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting took place last night in New York, where Prime Minister Sharif was present on the invitation of Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The event not only celebrated a historic milestone for Bangladesh but also served as a platform for advancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Sharif and the accompanying Pakistani delegation, setting a positive tone for the discussions. The talks were focused on expanding the bilateral ties between the two countries, reflecting a mutual desire to open new avenues for cooperation.

The ceremony was also attended by significant figures from Pakistan including Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, indicating the importance of the event to Pakistan.

The agreement to promote cooperation could lead to stronger economic, cultural, and political ties, which are expected to benefit both nations in the coming years.
