Kuwait city: Pakistan has formally assumed the presidency of the Digital Cooperation Organization. The development took place during a formal ceremony held in Kuwait on the sidelines of the 5th General Assembly of the DCO, attended by senior officials from 16 member countries.
According to Radio Pakistan, representing Pakistan, Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja assumed the presidency and stated that Pakistan will promote global cooperation in the fields of digital collaboration, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and artificial intelligence. She described the Digital Cooperation Organization as an international forum aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states to promote the digital economy, digital infrastructure, and data governance.
During Pakistan's presidency, the organization will focus particularly on digital education, safe online environments, and inclusive technology. Shaza Fatima Khawaja further mentioned that under Pakistan's leadership, the DCO will work to ensure the benefits of the digital revolution for youth, women, and all member countries.
This development is expected to highlight Pakistan as a strong representative in global digital dialogues and create new opportunities for international cooperation in advanced technology sectors.
