Islamabad: Pakistan and Thailand have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, development, education, and people-to-people exchanges. This affirmation was made during the 3rd Round of Pakistan-Thailand Bilateral Political Consultations held in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the talks were led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia and Pacific) Imran Ahmed Siddique for the Pakistan side and Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Sirilak Niyom for the Thai side. The discussions reviewed the entire spectrum of the Pak-Thailand bilateral relationship, with both parties resolving to strengthen ties and upgrade their enduring partnership.
Both sides agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, deciding to hold the next round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Bangkok on mutually agreed dates.
Meanwhile, Islamabad also hosted the 6th round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Finland. Additional Secretary Europe Muhammad Khalid Jamali led the discussions for Pakistan, while Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Security Policy Outi Holopainen represented Finland.
The consultations covered a wide range of bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, investment, education, science and technology, and climate change, alongside a detailed exchange of views on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
The Additional Secretary (Europe) appreciated the positive momentum in Pakistan-Finland ties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with Finland. He expressed gratitude for Finland’s support on Pakistan’s GSP Plus status and invited Finnish companies to take part in the upcoming Pakistan-EU Business Forum scheduled for April 2026.
