The National Price Monitoring Committee has directed relevant stakeholders to keep close watch on prices of food items and take action against hoarders.
The directions were issued during the committee’s meeting in Islamabad, with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Minister of State for Finance Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha in the chair, which reviewed prices of essential commodities in the country.
It was also decided in the meeting that the National Price Monitoring Committee will meet on weekly basis to monitor the prices and check the rising inflation in order to ease burden on the common man.
The Planning Minister stressed the need to take immediate measures to control the prices of essential commodities.
