Kashmiris continue to reject move to register outsiders’ votes in IIOJK

In Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Modi-led fascist regime decision to grant Indian citizens the right to vote, continues to draw anger from all communities in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Jammu-based politician Chaudhry Lal Singh addressing a news conference in the city condemned the decision and appealed to the Kashmiri people to take to the streets and fight the move with unity. He warned that the identity of the Kashmiri people was under threat after the latest onslaught on their right by New Delhi.

The Congress leader, Rajini Patil, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Srinagar said the party will oppose the inclusion of non-locals in voters IIOJK’s electoral rolls.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist leader, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said the latest move by the Modi government amounts to further disenfranchising the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out that the announcement was a brazen assault on the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti, today, claimed that she had been put under house arrest when she was planning to visit the house of a slain Kashmiri pandit at Chotigam in Shopian district on Wednesday.

An Indian soldier was injured in a landmine explosion in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.

Speakers at a panel discussion in London termed Hindutva ideology a threat to world peace and security and called upon the international community to play their role in tackling the menace.
