Karachi Rally by APHC-AJK Calls for International Intervention in Kashmir

Karachi: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter hosted a significant rally in Karachi to observe Kashmir Black Day, drawing attention to the longstanding conflict in Jammu and Kashmir and advocating for the region’s right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally was led by prominent APHC-AJK figures including Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, alongside other leaders. A broad spectrum of Karachi’s populace, along with various political, social, and religious organizations, participated in the event, which started at the Karachi Arts Council and ended at the Karachi Press Club.

Participants vocally condemned what they termed atrocities committed by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with chants and slogans demanding self-determination rights for the Kashmiri people. The rally featured speeches from influential figures such as Senator Waseem Mahdi from the PPP, Amin Haq from the MQM, and Muhammad Hussain Mehanti from the JI, along with former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob.

These speakers called on the international community to exert pressure on India to fulfill its obligations under United Nations resolutions regarding Kashmir’s status. Sharmila Farooqi, Amir Ghaffar Lone, and Faisal Hussain also highlighted the resilience of the Kashmiri struggle for autonomy and urged global support for their cause.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi, in his concluding remarks, expressed gratitude to the rally’s participants and reiterated the unwavering commitment to the freedom movement in Jammu and Kashmir.
