Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call today from Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. During their conversation, the two leaders exchanged Eid greetings and conveyed best wishes to each other, the peoples of their two countries, as well as the Muslim Ummah on this joyous occasion. According to Radio Pakistan, the Iranian President expressed his profound gratitude to the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for Pakistan's important role in efforts to bring peace to the region. He appreciated the support of other regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Trkiye, for these peace efforts. The Prime Minister once again expressed solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people over the loss of lives during the current crisis. He appreciated the Iranian President's kind words for him and his team, stating that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had made efforts to help restore peace in the region. He expressed hope that the peace agreement would be finalized soon with dignity and honor for the Iranian nation, which would help unlock Iran's economic potential and benefit the entire region. The Prime Minister emphasized that, as a brotherly and neighboring country, Pakistan would always stand by Iran and that a bright future awaited both countries once peace is restored in the region. The two leaders agreed to remain in close coordination with each other.
