Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi formally inaugurated the Online Women Police Station and 1info Mobile application in Islamabad today for registering online complaints.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Online Women’s Police Station has been established specifically for women, with a dedicated helpline number 1815 allocated for this purpose. The call takers, responders, and investigation officers on the 1815 helpline are all female police officials, ensuring a sensitive and understanding approach to women’s issues.
During his visit, Minister Naqvi directed efforts to make online platforms more active for providing immediate help to women and vulnerable groups. He stated that emergency complaints could be efficiently registered through the 1info mobile app, highlighting the government’s commitment to leveraging modern technology for public service.
Additionally, while chairing a meeting at the Safe City Headquarters in Islamabad, the Interior Minister emphasized the need to enhance the effectiveness of Safe City monitoring. He urged the integration of modern technology and Artificial Intelligence into the surveillance system. Naqvi also directed initiatives to connect Safe City Islamabad with other provincial Safe Cities to facilitate improved data sharing capabilities.
