Islamabad: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have intensified restrictions under the pretext of securing the Hindu Amarnath Yatra. The authorities have deployed nearly one hundred thousand additional paramilitary personnel across the territory.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Yatra is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Snipers and sharp shooters have been positioned at many locations along the Srinagar-Jammu highway, and drone surveillance will monitor pilgrim convoys. The Modi-led Hindutva government is utilizing all its resources to ensure the smooth conduct of the Hindu Amarnath Yatra, but it has simultaneously restricted religious freedoms of Kashmiri Muslims, who are frequently prevented from offering Friday and Eid prayers.
Meanwhile, at a seminar held on the sidelines of the United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva, the speakers have condemned India’s use of false flag operations in IIOJK. They described it as a long-standing tactic to defame the Kashmiris’ legitimate freedom struggle and justify military crackdowns. The speakers stressed that a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute is vital for regional peace and stability.
On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed strong condemnation over the arrest of three youth in Sopore under the draconian Public Safety Act. In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas denounced the detention labeling the PSA a ‘black law’ used to suppress dissent and muzzle voices of resistance in the territory. He said that Indian authorities are coercing these young detainees to make false statements in an attempt to malign the Kashmiri freedom movement and target Pakistan through fabricated narratives. He called on the United Nations and global powers to intervene and ensure the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with international law and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe Ali Raza Syed has commended Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements on the international stage and criticized India for advancing a misleading narrative. While speaking with PTV News, he said Pakistan’s consistent and principled stance on the Kashmir issue is gaining international recognition. Ali Raza Syed said Pakistan must maintain its momentum in highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people and countering the false narratives being spread by New Delhi. He highlighted that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, grounded in truth, justice, and human rights, are increasingly resonating with global forums and civil society.
