Lahore, May 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar remained active on Sunday, IG Punjab paid a surprise visit to 1787 Complaint Center Central Police Office, DIG Internal Accountability Syed Amin Bukhari and other officers were also with him. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar issued orders regarding the redressal after listening to the complaints of citizens online.
Dr. Usman Anwar ordered the DSP Sargodha Road Faisalabad to conduct an immediate inquiry of the citizen in the cheque dishonour case and ensure immediate steps to solve the citizen’s problem and provide justice.
Dr. Usman Anwar directed the DIG Internal Accountability to create an effective mechanism for redressal of complaints related to investigation at 1787 Complaint Center and categorization matrix of relevant RPOs, DPOs and other officers according to different stages of investigation. IG Punjab said that the defects in the investigation process should be removed keeping in view arrest of accused, recovery and complaints of bribery.
He said that the nature of the complaints should be determined and the responsibility should be assigned to the relevant officers for redressal. IG Punjab directed that no innocent person should be arrested, recovery of missing and abducted women and children should be ensured on priority basis. IG Punjab said that he will hold accountable the irresponsible officers and officials for bribery and defamatory behaviour.
Dr. Usman Anwar directed that all the RPOs and DPOs should ensure timely steps under their supervision to redress the complaints sent from 1787. IG Punjab said that only by solving the problems of the citizens we can fulfil the duties of serving the people in the true sense.
