ICCI Calls for Establishment of Auto City in Islamabad by CDA

Islamabad, The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has urged the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to set up an Auto City in Islamabad, highlighting the potential benefits for the automotive sector and the city’s infrastructure.

According to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry , President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari met with the Motor and Importer Dealers Association delegation to discuss this initiative. Bakhtawari emphasized the role of car showrooms in creating employment opportunities and stimulating business growth. He pointed out that the establishment of an Auto City would address parking issues in markets and enhance the sector’s operational efficiency. The ICCI assured its support to the Association in tackling the challenges faced by motor dealers.

The delegation, including prominent figures such as Rawalpindi Region President Raja Amir Karim, Islamabad Region President Sardar Irfan, Muhammad Waseem Abbasi, Islamabad Region General Secretary Azhar Akhlaq Abbasi, and others, brought forth various challenges confronting their sector.

Haji Tariq, President of the Motor and Importer Dealers Association, highlighted the significant contributions of motor dealers to business development and job creation. He urged the CDA to follow the directives of the Islamabad High Court and consider successful international models from cities like London, Malaysia, and Singapore in developing a viable solution for car showrooms in Islamabad.

The call for establishing an Auto City reflects a concerted effort by ICCI and the motor dealers to improve the automotive industry’s infrastructure and business environment in Islamabad, aiming to bring efficiency, organization, and growth to the sector.
