Grand Jirga Highlights Development and Regional Issues in Rakhshan

Rakhshan: A grand jirga was held in Rakhshan, Balochistan, focusing on regional issues and development projects. The event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander Balochistan Corps Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmad Khan, along with provincial ministers, senior civil and military officials, local tribal elders, women, and students.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that 25 percent of the profit from the Reko Diq project is allocated to Balochistan, ensuring the region benefits economically from the initiative. He further emphasized that all unskilled workers needed for the project would be recruited from within Balochistan, aiming to provide employment opportunities to the local population.

The tribal leaders present at the jirga expressed their appreciation for the efforts of law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace across Balochistan. The collaborative discussions at the jirga aimed to address ongoing challenges and explore avenues for regional development.
