Govt Unveils Policy to Promote Electric Vehicles

Islamabad: The government has introduced a new policy aimed at promoting electric vehicles nationwide, highlighting benefits in environmental, economic, public health, and industrial development sectors. Muhammad Saleem Shaikh, media spokesperson for the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, announced this initiative on Sunday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the New Electric Vehicle Policy seeks to ensure a fair transition to cleaner mobility. The policy aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, encourage local innovation, and generate new green jobs. The Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Ministry has reiterated its dedication to supporting electric vehicles as a measure to decrease vehicular carbon emissions and achieve both environmental and urban sustainability.
