Govt focusing on quality education at grass root level: NA told

The National Assembly was informed today that the government is giving special emphasis on promotion of quality education at the grass-root level.

Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister for Federal Education Rana Tanveer Hussain assured to provide missing facilities at the public sector schools.

The session of the assembly was held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the chair.

He said investment in the education sector is important to take the country forward on the path of development.

Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education, Zeb Jaffer said several including School on Wheel and an accelerated learning program have been started.

Federal Minister Javed Latif has said those who orchestrated the May 9 violent acts should be arrested and tried under the laws.

Speaking in the National Assembly, he said the plotters should not be spared under any pressure.

He said the tiger force of PTI was especially trained to perpetrate violent acts.

In his remarks, Aslam Bhootani strongly condemned the May 9 violent acts saying those who were involved should be given exemplary punishment.

Taking the floor, Abdul Akbar Chitrali said the state institutions are an asset of the whole nation.

He said we express solidarity with the armed forces and pay tribute to their sacrifices for peace and stability in the country.

Two bills were laid before the House on Tuesday.

These included the Chairman and Speaker Salaries, Allowances and Privileges Amendment Bill, 2023 and the Constitution Amendment Bill (Amendment in Article 76).

The chair referred the bills to the standing committee concerned.

The chair also referred the International Institute of Technology, Culture and Health Sciences Bill, 2022 to the joint sitting of the parliament for consideration and passage.

The House has now been adjourned to meet again tomorrow at one pm.
