Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says governance plays a pivotal role in development of a country.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of two-day Pakistan Governance Forum in Islamabad on Wednesday, he stressed on considering public as development partners.
The Minister said governance is the only difference between developed and underdeveloped countries. He said an inability of a nation to transform individual effort into collective strength is failure of governance.
He said it is unfortunate that we could not change our administrative structure which we inherited in 1947.
Ahsan Iqbal underscored that political stability is imperative for sustainable development.
He said success of Pakistan’s atomic program is a great case study of governance.
The Minister said alignment of goals, stable tenure of leadership, meritocracy, capacity building of human resource and availability of resources are the key factors of governance.
