FPCCI Forms Strategic Alliance with CCPIT to Develop Land-Sea Corridor

Karachi: In a significant move to enhance trade and investment, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has teamed up with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) to establish a land-sea corridor. This new alliance includes chambers of commerce from 17 regional, sub-regional, and economically significant countries, aiming to boost connectivity and economic cooperation.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the partnership was formalized during a session in Chongqing, China, where FPCCI President Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh participated as a founding member. Sheikh emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative for Pakistan on the international stage, heralding it as a crucial achievement.

The alliance will focus on exploring investment opportunities and fostering joint ventures across various sectors including mining and minerals, information technology and IT-enabled services (ITeS), agriculture and livestock, food processing and storage, infrastructure development, and renewable and alternative energy sources.

The FPCCI delegation to this new Alliance of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of International Land – Sea Trade Corridor also included notable figures such as Mr. Malik Sohail Hussain, Chairman Coordination of FPCCI, and Mr. Karim Aziz Malik, Chairman of the Capital Office at FPCCI. Their participation underlines the high-profile nature of the initiative and the broad spectrum of industries that stand to benefit from enhanced land-sea connectivity facilitated by this corridor.
