Foreign Secretary pays courtesy call on Indonesian President

Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad M. Khan paid a courtesy call on the Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Jakarta on Friday.

The Foreign Secretary conveyed good wishes of the Pakistani leadership to the President.

Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan met with Chairperson of Commission 1 of Indonesian Parliament Merutay Vidada Hafid in Jakarta on Friday.

They discussed strengthening of bilateral relations in various fields including political, economic, education and tourism as well as cooperation between the Parliament’s of the two countries.

Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad M. Khan also met Director General for Asia, Pacific, and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Abdul Kadir Jailani.

During the meeting, they discussed entire gamut of bilateral relations and expressed resolve to further expand and deepen cooperation in all areas.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretary witnessed the signing ceremony for the establishment of the Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council held at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Jakarta.

Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Secretary termed the establishment of Pakistan-Indonesian Business Council as an important step towards deepening of economic engagement and unlocking the vast potential within Pakistan-Indonesia partnership.

He expressed hope that the Council would serve as a catalyst for further economic cooperation by improving business-to-business interaction.
