Polling regarding bye elections will be held on Sunday in 20 constituencies in various parts of Punjab.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Friday, Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab Saeed Gul says all arrangements have been finalized regarding by-election to e held on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore today, he said that process of training, allocation of polling staff and security of polling stations have been completed.
He said sensitive polling stations will be monitored through CCTV.
He said ECP Punjab has imposed fine of five hundred and seventy-seven thousand rupees on violation of code of conduct while five notices have been taken on aerial firing. He expressed his resolve of holding a transparent by-election. He said that election campaign will be ended on 12 am tonight.
He said police and rangers to be deployed on polling stations.
Our Multan representative reports that all candidates will complete their election campaign in mid night while election commission will hand over ballot box and other polling material to presiding officers tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Punjab Home Minister Atta Ullah Tarar says strict action will be taken against those who will spread anarchy during by election to be held on Sunday.
He stated this while chairing a review meeting regarding security of by-election in Lahore today.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that section 144 has been imposed on display of arms. He said that crackdown will be carried out on display of arms.
He said holding of transparent elections will be ensured in by elections.
