Balochistan government on Monday presented next fiscal year 2023-24 budget with a total outlay of 750 billion rupees having a deficit of 49 billion rupees.
Provincial Finance Minister Zamrak Khan Achakzai presented the provincial Budget in Provincial Assembly in Quetta.
In the new fiscal year budget, 437 billion rupees have been allocated for non-development expenditures while 229 billion rupees have been allocated for developmental expenditures.
Zamrak Khan Achakzai announced 35 percent increase in salaries of government employees from grade 1 to 16, while 30 percent in the employees of grade 17 to 22. He also announced a 17.5% increase in pension. The Minister said minimum wage has been fixed at 32000 rupees for laborers.
He added that more than 65 billion rupees have been allocated for the betterment of the health sector.
Zamrak Khan announced that the Irrigation sector will be given over 21 billion rupees in the next budget.
