APHC leaders welcome PM Shehbaz Sharif’s statement on Kashmir

Srinagar, April 29, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have welcomed the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, in which he called for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Shehbaz Sharif while addressing the Passing Out Parade at PAF Academy Asghar Khan in Risalpur, yesterday, maintained that peace in South Asia cannot be established without a just and fair settlement of the Kashmir dispute in line with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The APHC leaders including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Khadim Hussain, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi and Muhammad Aaqib in their statements issued in Srinagar and Jammu said that Pakistan’s continued support to the Kashmir cause has always been a source of encouragement for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They thanked the people and the government of Pakistan for their unwavering support to the oppressed Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

The APHC leaders said India has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to maintain its occupation, it has deployed more than one million military and paramilitary personnel in the occupied territory, which has made the life of the Kashmiri people a hell. They said being an important party to the Kashmir dispute, Pakistan has always advocated its peaceful settlement. They said that Pakistan’s efforts for highlighting the plight of the Kashmiris at the international level strengthened the resolve of Kashmiri people to carry forward their freedom movement.

The APHC leaders maintained that statements of Pakistan’s political and military leadership have boosted the morale of the Kashmiri people. They appealed to the international community to play its role in resolving the lingering dispute for ensuring permanent peace in South Asia.
