Amir Muqam directs to ensure aid for rain-damaged homes in Kashmir, GB


Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam has directed the relevant officials to ensure financial assistance to people whose houses have been destroyed by recent rains.

He was speaking during a briefing given to him by senior officials of NDMA and PDMA about the relief operations in the affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to recent rains and landslides.

Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the deaths due to rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he emphasized transparency in distribution of aid and also directed the authorities to ensure better treatment facilities to the injured.

The minister was briefed that financial assistance is being given to families of deceased who died during recent rains.

PDMA officials briefed the minister that 33 children, 14 men and 12 women have been killed in rain-related incidents while 72 people have been injured.

2883 houses and 68 schools were damaged while 309 cattle were killed in Shangla, Swat, Mansehra, Bunir, Bannu, Waziristan, Bitgram, Mardan, Hangu, Koha
t, Khyber, Dir, Mohmand, Bajaur, Chitral, Karak, Tank, Peshawar and Charsadda.
