Srinagar, July 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami held a meeting in Srinagar, today, in connection with the third martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani. The meeting was attended by all the members of the General Council of the party. The participants felt that an attempt was made that no program be organized in or outside occupied Kashmir in remembrance of Burhan Wani, who was martyred by the Indian troops in Kokernag area of South Kashmir on 8th July in 2016.
The meeting observed that the motive behind the nefarious design was that by doing so the memory of this great hero would get gradually effaced from the minds of Kashmiri people. “But, complete shutdown was observed in occupied Kashmir and anti-India protests were held by the Kashmiri people in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan to remember Burhan Wani and show their love and support to this great son of the soil. By doing this the Kashmiris foiled all the plots of Indian agencies,” a statement issued after the meeting said.
The meeting said that it should be remembered that Burhan Wani won the people’s hearts because he was strongly and deeply attached to Islam and Pakistan. These are the two basic points which form the basis of the Kashmiris’ freedom movement and that the Kashmiri people can never remain oblivious to this, it stressed. The participants of the meeting reaffirmed the martyrs’ pledge to carry forward their mission to its logical conclusion.
