Islamabad, April 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): To commemorate national day of Pakistan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran H.E Riffat Masood hosted a reception at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day Pakistan’s Cultural festival on 17th April 2019 at Milad Tower, Tehran. Mr. Reza Rehmani, Minister for Industry, Mines and Trade, Islamic Republic of Iran was the chief guest. A large number of guests from all walks of life, members of the Iranian Parliament, high ranking civil and military officials, diplomats, scholars, media persons and prominent citizens of both countries attended the event, says a press release received here today from Tehran.
Iranian Minister Rehmani inaugurated Pakistan’s cultural festival and visited the stalls. Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage depicting four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, famous Pakistani truck art, Pakistani cuisine and dhol performance by famous Pakistani artists were showcased in the festival. The ceremony began with playing of national anthems of Pakistan and Iran. Ambassador Riffat Masood, in her speech, welcomed the guests and shed light on the historical significance of Pakistan National Day.
Highlighting the warm and close fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iran with potential to grow stronger, the Ambassador said that building business relations, strengthening cultural ties and encouraging more people to people contact is the best way forward and we will continue to build bridges of peace and friendship between our two countries. Reiterating the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for peace and development of Pakistan and regional security through mutual cooperation, the Ambassador said that the leadership of both countries have had good conversations on this score and Pakistan will continue to work with all its neighbours for regional stability.
Mr. Reza Rehmani, chief guest, in his speech extended felicitations to the Government and people of Pakistan on Pakistan’s National Day and said that the relations between both the countries are historical and deep rooted. He said that with the finalization of FTA, both countries will achieve trade target of 5 billion dollars by 2021. At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador, the Chief Guest and the dignitaries cut a cake marking Pakistan National Day. Documentaries showing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and economic progress was also screened on the multimedia. (Since 23rd March falls during Norouz holidays in Iran, Pakistan National Day reception was held on 17th April, 2019).
