New Delhi, April 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): An associate of illegally detained Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, arrested in a fake case of waging war against India, opposed in a Delhi court the Indian National Investigation’s plea for recording her voice sample for their probe. A lawyer appearing for Naheeda Nasreen, told Special Judge Rakesh Syal that the NIA’s demand for voice sample of his client was not permissible under the law.
The NIA told the court that it had some audio recordings related to their ongoing investigation with which the agency required to match Nasreen’s voice. The submissions were made before the court during in-camera proceedings.
The court in December last year directed the NIA to hand over the copy of the charge-sheet and other documents filed along with it to Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates, Naheeda Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi. The charge-sheet and the documents were handed over to them. Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen are currently in judicial custody in New Delhi. The court posted the matter for further hearing on May 06.
