Cairo The foreign ministers of Libya's neighboring countries (Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria) will discuss the developments in Libya in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Tuesday.

Libyan media quoted Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel as asserting that the tripartite meeting will discuss the latest developments in Libya.

In televised remarks, Messahel explained that the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to bring together the Libyan rivals, stressing that determining the future of the country lies with the Libyan people. He affirmed the importance of finding a solution to the Libyan crisis away from interference and use of arms, pointing out that political dialogue should be encouraged among the Libyans.

The Algerian top diplomat underlined that the solution to the Libyan crisis should come through dialogue between the Libyans since everyone today agrees to the idea of dialogue.

The last tripartite meeting on Libya was held in May 2018 in Algiers, within the framework of consultations between the Algerian foreign minister and his Tunisian and Egyptian counterparts.
